Compact and precise tread depth gauge designed for measuring tyre tread depth from 1 mm to 25 mm. The clear scale with 1 mm increments and an additional 1.6 mm mark helps quickly assess whether the tyre meets the legal requirements. Its small size and convenient clip allow you to attach it to clothing or a tool belt, so it’s always within reach. How to correctly measure tyre tread depth: Measure the height of tread blocks in the central part of the tyre. Take three measurements along the same groove, evenly spaced, to check if the wear is uniform. Press the measuring tip to the bottom of the groove and read the value from the scale. Also check the depth of the side grooves — uneven wear may indicate improper wheel alignment. Important information: The minimum legal tread depth is 1.6 mm. Driving with less may result in a fine and vehicle registration withdrawal. For safety, tyre manufacturers recommend replacing tyres when tread depth drops below 3 mm (summer tyres) and 4 mm (winter tyres). Worn tyres significantly reduce grip and increase the risk of aquaplaning (water cushion effect).
